Clinical Nurse Specialist - Rural & Remote

Salt Medical Recruitment is looking for an experienced Rural & Remote Nurse for a four-week contract at Jerramungup Health Centre in Western Australia's Great Southern region.

Location: Jerramungup, Great Southern WA
Dates: 31 August – 27 September 2026 – negotiable
Accommodation: Full house provided – all to yourself
Travel: Provided
Role: Solo nursing post
On call: After-hours and on-call component

This is hands-on rural nursing for an experienced clinician who is confident working autonomously and comfortable managing whatever comes through the door.

As the solo nurse at Jerramungup Health Centre, you'll provide outpatient and emergency services to the local community, with 24/7 Emergency Telehealth Service support and visiting GP services on Mondays and Wednesdays.

There is also an after-hours component, with on-call shared with nearby Bremer Bay Monday to Friday and emergency on-call across weekends and public holidays.

Essential Requirements

• Strong Rural/remote or emergency nursing experience
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and autonomously
• Current AHPRA registration
• ALS1
• Suturing competency
• Plastering competency
• Immunisation certification is highly desirable

The WA classification for this position is SRN Level 2 – Clinical Nurse Specialist (Remote), or equivalent experience working as an experienced nurse in rural and remote settings.

If you're based interstate, don't be put off by the WA classification. Nursing titles and classifications differ from state to state. What matters most for this role is your rural and emergency nursing experience, clinical capability and confidence working autonomously in a small health service.

Jerramungup is a small rural community and the western gateway to Fitzgerald River National Park, one of Australia's most botanically significant national parks.

The timing is also pretty special. You'll be there during the Great Southern's spring wildflower season, with some spectacular coastline and country to explore when you're off duty.

You'll have a full house to yourself and your travel is provided.
