Supporting a close-knit mining community in central Queensland, Blackwater is a regional town known for its strong coal industry and relaxed outback lifestyle. The local hospital is a small rural facility with approximately 15–20 beds, providing emergency, acute inpatient, and primary healthcare services, with 24/7 coverage for the town and surrounding mining areas.
